Through the years the building was also known as the Age-Herald Building, the Comer Building and the City Federal Savings and Loan Building. Black and white photograph of foundation work underway in the construction of the Pioneer Building at 301 Twentieth Street, South. The Pioneer Building was designed by Warren, Knight and Davis, Architects. It was acquired by Liberty National Life Insurance Company in 1927 and enlarged twice as the insurance company grew.
